Mission & Goal


History

The Simmons Foundation For Youth an change was founded in 2005 by Alvertis Simmons. It was always a “dream” of Alvertis to be in a position to help young people develop into productive community members.
Since the inception of the SFYC, we have been involved with many projects that support the community. Projects such as, mentorship, holiday parties and food give always.  Holiday events which include, Thanksgiving turkey give aways  to the less fortunate, Christmas toy drives, and the “free” Life skills/ Basketball Camp. Since the inception of the foundation, we have helped over 5,000 families with food, toys, and other services. We are very proud to say that the Simmons Foundation for Youth and Change, is the only organization in the State of Colorado, that holds a  “free” two week life Skills / Basketball Camp for inner city youth.

Our mission is to help inner city youth build good self-esteem, and become productive community members . Our goal is to help develop young people into respectful and disciplined adults.
